Overview
About
The Greifswalder Bachwoche is the oldest music festival in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, founded in 1946 around sacred music. Over one week each June, more than forty concerts, cantata services and related events take place in churches and cultural venues across Greifswald and its surroundings. Jointly run by the Pomeranian Evangelical Church and the University of Greifswald, the festival centres on Bach's great choral works alongside chamber music and pieces by composers influenced by him.
