About
The Madeira Music Festival, held in Funchal, is a classical music event whose history dates back to 1959 and which was revived under the artistic direction of violinist Norberto Gomes with the Madeira Classical Orchestra. Each edition brings together artists from around the world for a series of concerts across various cultural venues in the city, pairing international soloists and ensembles with the resident orchestra. The festival also offers free masterclasses for young instrumentalists and often closes with a jazz-themed weekend.
