About
Founded in 1961 in Molde, Norway, by enthusiasts from the local Storyville Jazz Club, Moldejazz is the oldest continuously running jazz festival in the world. Each summer the fjordside town turns into a sprawling festival arena hosting around a hundred concerts and hundreds of artists from Norway and abroad. Over the decades it has drawn major names in jazz and beyond, from Miles Davis to Herbie Hancock, and has received Norwegian government support since the 1960s.
