Musical Evenings in St. Donatus

Musical Evenings at St Donatus have taken place every summer, in July and August, at St Donatus Church in Zadar, Croatia, since 1961, at the initiative of conductor Pavle Dešpalj, who founded the Zadar Chamber Orchestra for the occasion. The classical music festival, built around an annual theme, spotlights chamber music as well as early medieval and Renaissance repertoire, set in the striking acoustics of this ninth century pre-Romanesque rotunda. Concerts, exhibitions and workshops make it one of the city's leading cultural events.
