Overview
About
The Musikfestspiele Saar unfold each spring over roughly four weeks across Saarland and its border regions. Founded in 1989 by Robert Leonardy, the festival was initially biennial before becoming annual, and plays on Saarland's location bordering France and Luxembourg by building each edition, since 1995, around a different country's music (British, French, and so on). Its program of around twenty concerts ranges from symphonic and chamber works to recitals, new music and street formats inspired by French-style pocket concerts.
