Musikwoche Hitzacker

Musikwoche Hitzacker fills the small town of Hitzacker in Lower Saxony, Germany, each winter, in February or March, with about ten days of classical music concerts. Since 2024 the Mahler Chamber Orchestra has held the artistic direction, offering around twenty events combining orchestral and chamber music, open rehearsals, a concert for young audiences, and masterclasses for emerging musicians. The town's intimate scale allows close interaction between the public and the musicians, a closeness that defines the festival's character.
