Overview
About
The Opernfestspiele Heidenheim take place in the open-air courtyard of Hellenstein Castle, a medieval fortress overlooking Heidenheim an der Brenz in southern Germany. Founded in 1964 and moved to Hellenstein in 1977, it ranks among the country's longest-running opera festivals. Led by conductor Marcus R. Bosch since 2009, it stages opera productions that move indoors to the nearby Congress Centrum in poor weather.
