About
Founded in 1895 by conductor Henry Wood and run by the BBC since 1927, the Proms take place every summer at the Royal Albert Hall in London over eight weeks. Promming lets attendees stand in the Arena and Gallery at a reduced fare, tickets sold on the day. The classical orchestral programme closes with the Last Night, a lighter evening of popular classics and British patriotic pieces.
