Soirées Lyriques de Sanxay

The Soirées Lyriques de Sanxay take place in the theatre of the Gallo-Roman site of Herbord, near Sanxay in the Vienne department. Founded in 2000 by artistic director Christophe Blugeon, the festival stages major operas from the repertoire, including works by Verdi, Bizet and Puccini, outdoors each summer. It ranks among the leading opera events in France, alongside Aix-en-Provence and the Chorégies d'Orange.
