South Island Wine & Food Festival

Held every year in North Hagley Park in Christchurch, usually in December, this is the South Island's largest wine and food event, drawing around 10,000 visitors. Winemakers from Marlborough, Central Otago and the Waipara Valley pour their wines, local chefs run cooking demonstrations, and a handful of Christchurch restaurants serve dishes from a dedicated dining area. Masterclasses and live music round out the afternoon.
