About
Held annually in Mumbai and organised by the Sur Singar Samsad, this Hindustani classical music and dance festival was founded in 1952 in honour of the 16th century saint, poet and musician Swami Haridas, founder of the Haridasi mystic tradition and associated with the dhrupad style. Spread over a week, it brings together some of the country's most respected vocalists, instrumentalists and dancers. Its long continuous run makes it one of India's most established classical music gatherings.
