Tiroler Festspiele Erl

Founded in 1997 by conductor Gustav Kuhn, this opera and classical music festival takes place in Erl, in the Austrian Tyrol, with a strong focus on the works of Richard Wagner. It alternates between two neighboring venues: the historic Passionsspielhaus from 1959 and the Festspielhaus, a black fiber-cement clad building opened in 2012. A winter edition runs in late December, alongside the summer season.
