About
The Ullmannovské slavnosti (Viktor Ullmann Festival) take place in Český Těšín, the Czech twin town of Poland's Cieszyn, honouring composer Viktor Ullmann, who was born there in 1898 and murdered in 1944. Established in 2018 to mark the 120th anniversary of his birth, this biennial classical music festival spotlights his work alongside that of fellow composers persecuted under the Nazi regime. It brings together Czech, Polish and Austrian musicians for concerts staged on both sides of the border.
