About
Dark Music Days (Myrkir músíkdagar) is held each winter in Reykjavik, Iceland. Founded in 1980 by the Iceland Composers' Society, it is the country's leading contemporary music festival and one of its oldest musical events. Deliberately scheduled during the darkest days of winter, it showcases new and often experimental works, bringing together Icelandic composers and international performers, and stands out for premiering more new pieces each year than any other Icelandic cultural event.
