Wien Modern

Wien Modern is Austria's largest festival for contemporary music, founded in 1988 by conductor Claudio Abbado to bring fresh energy to Vienna's musical life. Each autumn, over roughly a month, it takes over landmark venues like the Konzerthaus and Musikverein alongside more unusual spaces such as cafés, museums, and the Ottakringer brewery, showcasing works that push at the edges of contemporary listening.
